F150 Tremor FORScan

What is “Power Point Timeout Configuration”?

Two questions:

1) Is there really a disadvantage using the "plain english" settings vs. the "hexidecimal?" Can you use plain english for one mod and hexidecimal for another?

2) What is a good, easy, first FORScan mod to try to get the hang of things?

Not really a disadvantage, but there isn't (to my knowledge) a true 1:1 plain english to as-built correlation, meaning you may not be able to change all the same configurations in the plain english version as you can in the as-built version.

I would do the turn signal flashes first b/c you can do them in the plain english one and use the hexadecimal chart to "validate". Kind of helps you see the change in the as-built after the fact. Other changes would be Global Open/Close, if you have the heated steering wheel option you can increase the temp of the heat in the wheel, Bambi mode, Fogs on with Hi-Beams are a few easy ones.

Got it. So just to clarify, what you are saying:

If I change a setting in the plain English, when I recycle the ignition, I should be able to go then to the hexidecimal/as-built and see the numeric value change correspondingly to what I just did in plain English?

Seems like the turn signal flashes might be the best to start with being I can check it pretty easy right away.

Yes, 100%. I looked at the hexadecimal chart to see what I "thought" the correct value would be based on the number of flashes I wanted, then changed the plain english version, cycled the ignition, ran Forscan again and looked at the as-built and saw that the hexadecimal code changed.

Awesome. Thank you. You guys are the best.

The “plain English” gui version can have issues since you don’t know exactly what it’s going to change. With different vehicles and different software versions, it might not always do what you want. In the hex version all the changes are manually entered.

I did two last night to get used to the system.

I changed the momentary turn signal flashes to 4. That one I did in plain English after being confused about adding to hexadecimal values. That went fine. Never would have figured that one out.

Then I did bambi mode in as-built, with the digit replacement, and that went fine as well.

All in all, not bad but I can see the having to add or subtract hexadecimals for certain functions, tripping people up.

Anyone found a way to using forscan to disable the A/C from turning on all the time? As soon as the outside temp gets within about 10 degrees of the inside setting the A/C turns on. I've tried shutting off the Auto control but I still have to constantly watch the A/C light. It's kind of stupid to have windows down and the temp setting low enough so its not blowing heat and then the A/C turns on.
As the weather permits, I will often drive with the the rear slider open and a couple side windows open a little and just want the HVAC on vent. But after a little while I notice the A/C has turned on again and I have to shut it off. Even if the A/C is off, the next time I start the truck it's back on. I'm looking for a way to change it to stay off until I change it to on, much like the Auto start/stop disable or the headlights always defaulting to auto.

On this note, I'd love to know how to adjust the heating steering wheel thermostat. The other day it was 70F here and my heated wheel turned itself on lol.

Can't seem to get Global Windows up from the key fob to work. I have the Windows down working. Checked the Forscan values multiple times, they are correct. I even changed them back to original As Built and then changed them again. I also tried the Window relearn but I am not sure I am doing it right. Do i press and pull using the double auto up/down press and pull or just the single (does that make sense?)

Pull and hold it until it goes up.

There has to be a way to disable 4A from defaulting when you go into sport mode. I know having the truck start in sport mode is probably not feasible.

Thanks but I figured it out, I THINK. I needed to add the Setting to sync in the APIM module

If there is, you’d be the first one to figure it out.

One more question, for programming the Low Beams with DRL's. Do I change all 5 of the BCM lines listed below?
