Do The Sunroofs Leak?

Don't leave it shut for years - get the rubber moving and cleaned 6 m/o rubbing alcohol and greased.

Make sure the drains work on day 1 - most common issue is that they came disconnected or fell off in transit. One guy said his raptor shipped WITHOUT drain tubes at all.

I am waiting for my 2026 to be built( Started production yesterday:) because I have a 2022 that has the sunroof that leaks horrible! This one had to be ordered cause they dont keep any on the lot with no sunroof..........

How can you verify the drains are in and secure correctly without pulling panels? Anyone point to an image to help confirm all is good?

I ended up bailing on my order without. I didn't want the sunroof. Couldn't wait the length of time to build/deliver. So tomorrow I am supposed to pick up the exact truck I wanted but WITH the sunroof. Fingers crossed for no water goblins.

I think you will be very happy with it. It really does add value and make drives more enjoyable. I keep mine closed in the heat of summer but otherwise it is always open to let sunlight through. Your backseat passengers will particularly enjoy it. It was a much bigger plus to the truck than I expected.

Did Ford remedy the problem. I’m having the dam issue & Ford won’t cover it under my extended warranty or regular warranty

Took delivery today with the sunroof. Have to say it's pretty nice and hope it isn't an issue. Tons of light if you want it and with the shade its totally dark.

I feel the same way, didn’t expect to use it but find myself enjoying it. That will obviously change if it ever leaks 😂

Pour water into the channel, front two corners have holes. You will see it pouring out behind the driver / passenger wheel depending where you dump water.

Retired SM from a large dealer. I took plenty of time to find a truck with no sunroof. Saw 100's of rattles, squeaks, leaks, broken tracks, shade problems. And...you get to pay $1500 for all the BS, not to mention for repairs! Lost count of how many broken tracks we replaced on ones that had never been open. Absolute trash, never understood why ford couldn't figure it out after 50 years.

That’s a good point. They need to be used ever so often. I’m also in the habit of venting first and then sliding back the whole sunroof in addition to servicing it every 6 months or so with my truck living outside.

To be fair, I had a very expensive German SUV (that I traded for the Tremor) and that sunroof was a nightmare. While it didn't leak, the track broke, the trim would fall off into the car and it always made a horrible rattle. So I'm not sure this is exclusive to Ford. The volume of trucks on the road amplify the issue.

It is good that there is a maintenance routine that can easily be done (seal prep, lube, clean drains) to keep them in operating order. From what I've found, a combination of Krytox grease and Netzet Gummi Pledge for lubrication of the seal is needed every so often (not sure on how frequently yet - probably driven by your local weather). I've also seen some use trimmer line and compressed air to blow out the drain holes. Validating water draining and existing below the truck is important.

Any recommendations on how to routinely maintain the track assembly? Both the Krytox and Netzet products are pricey. Would be nice if there was something cheaper but just as effective.

'22 here without it, and to be honest, I've never missed it one day. I think you either love them or ignore them LOL.

I can attest to this. My 2023 new tremor was shipped without drain tubes also. Luckily, the leak just went down and made the carpet wet which I noticed quickly. Fix the drain tubes and dry the carpet and I’ve had no issues since.
