What's new

Wait what!!!!

Not if part of the design is to block rocks thrown up by the front tires. Then I think you'd want the wide part in front and it wouldn't matter at the rear so you could taper it a little for a somewhat sleeker look.

Great! Now I cant unsee this lol.

Was thinking the same regarding blocking the rocks from the front tires. We've been on a ton of roads, (paved, unpaved, gravel, etc) and I've been pleasantly surprised how little thrown rocks have hit the sides.

Looks good but I'm with the 'what about the rocks' crew... Too many unpaved roads and frequent off roading here in MT.

I did it

😂……..It’s amazing how so many people are so quick to jump onto something like this especially since before seeing the video, they never reported any issues.

Maybe it depends on tire width and offset. The pic from @Nickac looks like it has the tread covered. We need an experiment with two lefts or two rights installed.

I like the grip parts of the steps being in the right places and the wide section available to get in the front of the bed. Maybe they should be wide on both ends.

I guess we shouldn’t mention the retractable steps…

Wider front area to protect body. More important for those that live on or travel gravel, backroads or off-roading and hunting.
The forward or front cutouts are where you would place a foot to access your windshield, other foot on top of tire usually. Deep or wet snow can cover a windshield fast and overwhelm the wipers.
Middle cutouts are where driver/passenger entry cab. Large area of cutouts-rear area of those are where rear cab passengers enter, and the rest is where you place your feet to access the roof area for cleaning, etc.

If you swap the boards the Ford stamped in the boards will be facing the wrong direction.
if you decide to swap, you're swapping the passenger and drivers side. Ford will be facing out still.

I can't unsee it on mine either this weekend they will be going the other way

What about rocks slinging up behind the rear wheels? I guess mud flaps it is.

Just switched mine it's the way there suppose to be .if you look at the holes in the step
